BASIC
LIFE SUPPORT AMBULANCE SERVICE
Our
Basic Life Support Ambulance Service can provide "911" emergency
medical services and are licensed by the
New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services. They units are staffed by
two certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT-B).
Capital Health System's EMT-Bs are trained to provide basic life support
services including oxygen administration, basic airway management, CPR
and defibrillation using a semi-automatic defibrillator, bandaging and
splinting of wounds, management of spinal injuries, and patient packaging.
In addition to state required training and continuing education requirements,
our EMT-Bs are also required to attend training in Pre-Hospital Trauma
Life Support (PHTLS) and pass yearly basic skills verifications. When
more advanced care is required, our basic life support crews assist our
paramedics in providing the very best care possible in the pre-hospital
environment.
